Welcome to GB1NHS

GB1NHS gives the NHS the ability to communicate with communities anywhere in the world. Regardless of geographic location, or connection to traditional services such as land lines, cell phones or the internet.

The station uses the global amateur (HAM) radio platform to gain access to restricted radio frequencies which are used by specially licenced radio operators.

It is used to help promote initiatives that improve the health and well-being of communities globally.

GB1NHS is proudly operated by the national Emergency Care Improvement Support Team, under licence by the Government Office for Communications.

The NHS has formed an unprecedented partnership with the Radio Society of Great Britain (RSGB) to run a national campaign called ‘get on the air to care’ #GOTA2C.

The campaign aims to reduce loneliness and isolation across communities. Now more than ever, we need to optimise all modes of communication, including the radio spectrum.
